Project Description
Garlic has been used for thousands of years throughout the world as an herb for both culinary purposes and therapeutic benefits. Back then, circa 460 – 370 B.C., an ancient Greek physician Hippocrates prescribed garlic for treating parasites, respiratory problems, poor digestion, tuberculosis (TB), liver disorders, bronchitis, and fatigue, making him known as “the father of Western medicine” until now. Today, according to the National Institutes of Health, garlic is used for many conditions such as atherosclerosis, heart attack, high cholesterol, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. They also stated that some people have used garlic oil for the prevention of breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, rectal cancer, colon cancer, and stomach cancer. When garlic cloves are being crushed to make garlic oil, the sulfur-containing chemical alliin is then converted to allicin, giving garlic its distinctive odor and making its oil a rich antioxidant which helps in destroying cell-damaging free-radicals in the blood to reduce cancer. Each GMP Vitas™ Garlic Oil softgel contains a highly concentrated 5:1 ratio of fresh garlic (equivalent to 1,500 mg of garlic). Overall, it has been found to support cardiovascular health by promoting healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.*
